Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I have to say that I've been SO busy and haven't had time to breathe, let along blog. However, I should turn to blogging because it helps me decompress a little bit. For the past few weeks I have, unfortunately, been a work-a-holic! Taking on my clinical group, working my three days a week, studying, and running around with a toddler that likes to un-do everything I've done has worn me out. I actually had a really hard day Wednesday. I had planned all of these things around the house to get done (cleaning, washing dishes, clothes, etc. the regular), but I was on call. At 7:20am I received a call that I had to come into work. I was miserable the entire day. I tried to hide it from my co-workers with a smile, but at 5pm I broke down. I thought I would have already been gone from work by that time (when you are on-call the charge nurse usually tries to get you out of there is it's possible as early as possible). It was crazy busy this day, and I was stuck. My baby boy was at home waiting on me, I had things to do, I was overwhelmed, and I broke down. I called mom and vented. I needed it. I'm so thankful to have my mom as my best friend, she is always there for me and always knows what to say. Mom is always right, always. I'm also very lucky to have the wonderful co-workers/friends at work that I do!! I had about 5 girls motivate me on that super busy day, even though they were busy...and I appreciate them. I did get to leave by 6pm and I had a very handsome boy, and handsome hubby waiting on my arrival with dinner :-)
Superbowl weekend we visited my brother and sister-in-law (John and Yuliya) in Augusta, GA. I had the pleasure of spending a SPA day with Yuliya and my mother-in -law on Saturday. I had my hair highlighted and a massage! We went here: http://www.michellejames.com/ We decided on Friday night that we would venture out into town and get this done. At 10am we decided, ON A SATURDAY, to start calling. EVERYWHERE was booked, Yuliya had given up. I didn't want to, so I kept calling. I finally found a place! We concluded that the reason they had openings is because they were SO expensive, but we had a great time and it was worth it. My hair is now blonde again :-) I came home from getting my hair done and found Lukas like this:
Haha, he had his daddy's shoes on and was walking around saying "da-da" "shoe", over and over. I laughed so hard and of course he thought it was so funny. I'm so glad I got to see my family in Augusta, we miss them so much! John was placed there for his medicine residency, and they had to move down there not knowing anyone. They are missing Lexington, but doing fine in Augusta. We went for John's 30th birthday.
Lukas helped Uncle John blow out the candles
I wanted to add a few other pictures from our wonderful weekend visiting our family. We had no bath toys, so we turned to kitchen utensils...it worked. Anything works.
My ltitle sweet boy, he doesn't like looking at the camera anymore, he acts like he doesn't have time to take a picture, haha. I love my baby.
Always, Kari
